Fuel & Service Station Engineering
Petrol station engineering consultants in Egypt
PMW provides fuel station design and engineering consultancy in Egypt for fuel retailers and energy operators. We coordinate feasibility, site planning, multidisciplinary design and construction supervision, drawing on experience with ADNOC, TotalEnergies, Misr Petroleum, Wataneya, Aramco, Woqod and Ola.
One coordinated delivery path
From feasibility and authority requirements to multidisciplinary design, construction supervision and live-site upgrades, PMW keeps interfaces clear. Civil, architectural, structural, MEP, fire protection, fuel systems, traffic and HSE requirements are developed as one controlled package.
01 / FEASIBILITY & SITE PLANNING
Turn a station site into a workable development plan
A successful fuel station begins with the site, not a standard drawing. PMW reviews access, plot geometry, traffic movement, utilities, neighbouring uses, authority constraints and operational targets before the design is fixed. We test the arrangement of entrances, exits, dispenser islands, underground tanks, tanker routes, buildings, parking and safety offsets so every major decision is understood early. The result is a clear development basis that aligns commercial priorities with safe vehicle circulation, practical construction and future operation. When several candidate sites are being compared, the same method creates a consistent record of opportunities, constraints and required investigations, helping the client focus capital on locations that can progress with fewer surprises.

Fuel station design in Egypt: coordinated systems for safe operations
PMW develops coordinated design packages for new stations, refurbishments and network rollouts. The scope can integrate architecture, structure, roads and drainage, electrical power, lighting, low-current systems, plumbing, ventilation, fire protection and specialised fuel systems. Tank pits, fill points, vent pipes, dispensers, canopies, signage, convenience buildings and service areas are checked as one operational environment. Interfaces are reviewed against equipment requirements, construction sequencing, maintainability and emergency response. Drawings, specifications, schedules and calculations are organised so contractors can price the same information and site teams can build with fewer clashes. For repeat programmes, we also adapt the client’s prototype to local plots and authority requirements while protecting the core brand and operating standards.

03 / SUPERVISION & HSE CONTROL
Service station construction supervision and HSE
During construction, PMW verifies that work follows the approved design, specifications and agreed quality controls. Our engineers review submittals, method statements, material approvals, inspection requests and progress while coordinating technical issues between the client, contractor, vendors and authorities. Particular attention is given to underground fuel works, testing, earthing, hazardous-area requirements, fire and life safety systems, tanker access and the interfaces that become difficult to correct after finishes are complete. HSE controls are integrated into daily supervision, including permits, excavation, lifting, hot work, temporary traffic arrangements and work inside operating sites. Clear observations, records and close-out tracking help the client reach commissioning with fewer unresolved defects.

Deliver consistent stations across a growing network
Fuel networks need repeatable standards without ignoring the realities of each location. PMW can help define a common survey format, design basis, drawing structure and approval workflow, then apply them across multiple sites. For existing stations, we assess the current condition, identify constraints and plan upgrades around live operations, customer access and shutdown windows. The scope may include canopy and building refurbishment, forecourt reconfiguration, tank and piping works, electrical and lighting improvements, drainage, fire systems, signage or conversion to a revised brand standard. Programme-level coordination makes priorities, responsibilities and technical decisions visible across the portfolio. This allows the client to compare sites consistently, control design changes and sequence investment while maintaining safe service and a recognisable customer experience.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Practical answers for fuel-station projects
What are the petrol station licensing requirements in Egypt?
The GAFI licensing portal identifies EGPC as the service provider for establishing and licensing a fuel station. Its published application checklist includes certified site coordinates and a survey map at 1:2,500 scale, a copy of the investor’s national ID, the investor declaration on EGPC’s form, and a letter from the marketing company to EGPC requesting approval for the proposed site, with those documents attached.
This is the initial application checklist, not confirmation that a site is approved or a complete set of construction and operating permissions. Confirm the current, site-specific requirements with EGPC and the marketing company before committing to a final design or starting work.

Can PMW assess a site before we commit to the full design?
Yes. We can review access, plot constraints, utilities, authority requirements, station layout and the investigations needed before the project advances.
Can one team handle design, supervision and HSE?
Yes. The scope can combine multidisciplinary design, tender documentation, construction supervision, technical coordination, quality control and HSE support under one delivery framework.
Can PMW support upgrades while the station remains operational?
Yes. We plan surveys, phasing, temporary access, permits and shutdown activities around the live operation, subject to the site-specific safety assessment and approved work controls.
